Directions

Directions to Martha's Vineyard Ferry:

Merritt Parkway, to I-95, to Providence, to I-195, to Route 25 towards Bourne Bridge. Go across Bourne Bridge and follow Route 28 to Falmouth. Stay right as you enter Falmouth and follow signs to Woods Hole and Ferry. You must arrive at least 1/2 hour before the ferry departs. Allow plenty of extra time for traffic.

Vehicle reservations are required. If you don't have tickets, call or use the link below for reservations as soon as you know your plans. If your preferred times are not available, try to take the best you can get. Then ask to be "wait-listed" for dates and times you prefer. Give them as broad a window as possible to increase your opportunity to get a better reservation. There is a standby time on some days, so ask about that also. Reservations are not necessary for walk-on passengers.

On-Island Directions to 5 Clay Pit Way, Aquinnah, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts:

- From Vineyard Haven take State Road towards Aquinnah (Gayhead).
- Turn left on Old Country Road.
- Go to end, which is Edgartown - West Tisbury Road.
- Turn right then bear left onto South Road (You'll pass Alley's General Store).
- Continue on South Road to Chilmark.
- Bear left onto State Road towards Aquinnah.
- Go past Moshup's Trail and look for a sign which says Lobsterville.
- Turn right on Lobsterville Road.
- Go down hill towards the water.  The road curves to the right and you will travel along the water.
- Take your first right to Clay Pit Road, a dirt road that is marked but which also will be noted by a row of mailboxes at the corner.
- Wind up Clay Pit Road (which is like a driveway) until you reach a fork.  There should be a stake in the ground with Posner painted on it.
- Bear right at the fork.
- House will be the third on the right with a cattle gate at the entrance, and another stake with Posner painted on it, "5 Clay Pit Way."

On-Island Directions From Oak Bluffs to 5 Clay Pit Way, Aquinnah, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts:

Oak Bluffs Ave becomes Lake Ave, which becomes New York Ave. Left on Towanticut St (which is how most of the traffic goes anyway), Right on Eastville Ave; Left on Beach Road; To 5 way intersection in Vineyard Haven (it’s a free-for-all at this intersection); Turn Left, continuing on Beach Road which becomes State Road. Then follow directions from Vineyard Haven stated above.
